Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest
STATUTE
This project represents the implementing in Romania, by ELITE ART Club UNESCO (in its capacity as sole Romanian representative of Jeunesses Musicales International http://jmi.net/), of the conducting competition initiated by Jeunesses Musicales International, one of the most renowned and appreciated classical music competitions for young people in the world, with a history of over 50 years.
The aim of the International Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest is to create opportunities for young musicians from all over the world in order to increase their participation in the European institutions of creation. As such, the performance opportunities offered by the International Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest will promote not only music and young talents but will naturally lead to a significant circulation of the artistic works and cultural products.
In addition to its main goal, the competition wishes to stimulate mutual interaction and create a real dialogue between the young musicians which will permit them to learn from one another, to discover not only their own abilities but also facts about their socio-cultural past thus promoting intercultural dialogue.
The general objective of the International Conducting Competition Jeunesses Musicales Bucharest is to ensure transborder collaboration among young people: through the competition’s program and all the included events we wish to create a meeting and interpretation space with as many participants as possible, from different environments thus leading to awareness regarding cultural diversity and strengthening the intercultural dialogue.
Anton SHABUROV, Russia
1st Prize
Russian conductor Anton Shaburov is the winner of the First International Felix Mendelssohn conducting competition (Thessaloniki, Greece, 2016 – First prize) and of the Third All-Russian Ilya Musin conducting competition (Kostroma, Russia, 2013 – Grand prix and special audience award).
Since 2017 Anton Shaburov has been the principal conductor and artistic director of the Far Eastern State Symphony Orchestra (Khabarovsk, Russia).
As a guest conductor Anton Shaburov led opera performances at the Primorsky stage of the Mariinsky theatre (Vladivostok, Russia) and concert programs with the MAV symphony orchestra (Budapest, Hungary), the Ural philharmonic orchestra (Yekaterinburg, Russia), the Plovdiv philharmonic orchestra (Bulgaria), the Magna Grecia symphony orchestra (Taranto, Italy), the Southern Arizona symphony orchestra (Tucson, USA), the Philharmonic orchestras of Rostov-on-Don, Samara, Kislovodsk and many others. Since 2015 Anton Shaburov has been a permanent guest conductor of the Omsk chamber orchestra.
Anton Shaburov received his musical education in two major Russian conservatories. He graduated from the Ural Mussorgsky (2008, diploma with honors) and the Moscow Tchaikovsky (2011, diploma with honors) conservatories studying conducting with the legendary professor Gennady Rozhdestvensky.
His professional conducting career started at 2009 when Anton Shaburov became a Permanent Guest Conductor of the Globalis International Symphony Orchestra in Moscow and a principal conductor and artistic director of the Ural State Mussorgsky Conservatory symphony orchestra in Yekaterinburg. During his activity as a principal conductor Anton Shaburov led more than 40 concert programs and several festivals dedicated to Rachmaninoff, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Shchedrin, Zolotaryov.

Joanna Natalia ŚLUSARCZYK, Poland
2nd Prize
Majoring in Symphonic and Opera Conducting in the class of maestro Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, graduated with honors from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where she is currently working on her D.M.A. (Doctor of Music Arts). She also graduated with honors from the Academy of Music in Kraków.
In January 2018 she earned Third Prize in the First European Union International Conducting Competition in Sofia/Pazardjik, Bulgaria. In April 2018, she won First Place at the London Classical Soloists Conducting Competition in Great Britain. She was also awarded a Special Mention at the BMW International Conducting Masterclass and Competition in Portugal (April 2018). In May 2018, she was chosen as the Conductor-in-Residence at the Silesian Philharmonic in Katowice, for the 2018-2019 season.
Alexandru ILIE, Romania
3rd prize
Since 2007, Alexandru Ilie has performed concerts with the NUMB orchestras – under the guidance of maestros Cristian Brâncuşi and Horia Andreescu, with classic and romantic repertoire.
In 2010 he was the orchestra conductor and the stage coordinator in a concert of contemporary music, poetry and movie – named “At a mountain feet of thoughts”, music by the Romanian young composer Vlad Baciu, student of the maestro Dan Dediu, with the partnership of the students from The Caragiale University of Theatrical Arts and Cinematography.
In 2010-2011, within the project funded by European Structural Funds „S.O.P.H.R.D”, he assisted and participated in artistic activities in institutions such as Bucharest National Opera, Bucharest National Theater, Romanian Radio Broadcasting Company, where I was taught by the maestros: Cristian Brancuşi, Tiberiu Soare.
Victor JACOB, France
Honorable Mention
French conductor Victor Jacob graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, and is currently pursuing another Master at Conservatoire National de Paris with Alain Altinoglu. He was a semi-finalist at both Besançon Conducting Competition 2017 and Hong-Kong Conducting Competition 2018. After developing his passion for music at an early age through studying the violin, he continued singing and piano at the French National Public Radio children’s choir La Maîtrise de Radio France. He went on to complete his BMus at Paris La Sorbonne and his Solfege advanced degree at the Conservatoire de Paris. Victor had the opportunity to study orchestra conducting under the leadership of Neil Thomson, Marin Alsop (Saõ Paulo) or Bernard Haitink (Lucerne Festival).
Yalda ZAMANI, Germany
Honorable Mention
As a passionate advocate for contemporary music, she collaborates regularly with composers around the world, and has worked directly with many of the leading conductors and composers of the day.
T he prize winner of the “Start-Stipendium”, awarded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture in 2015, identified as a promising young conductor by the Ulysses Network- IRCAM artistic committee in France in 2017, Yalda Zamani started off her musical training in piano, composition and singing, and received a scholarship to study composition in the USA in 2009, but her growing passion for conducting after assisting with the Iran-Austria Symphony Orchestra in Tehran, lead to her studies in orchestral conducting and harpsichord performance in Vienna, where she graduated with distinction.
