“George Enescu” Philharmonic
Founded in 1868, The Romanian Philharmonic Society later became the “George Enescu” Philharmonic, the most famous musical institution in Romania. The Philharmonic Society was then conducted by Eduard Wachmann who aimed to create a permanent symphonic orchestra in order to promote musical culture and to popularize classical music masterpieces. “Banat“ Philharmonic in Timisoara
The “Banat” Philharmonic in Timisoara, established in 1947, was the result of intense artistic activities of music societies and associations such as Timisoara Philharmonic Society (1871), the Association of Friends of Music (1920) – while being also known as George Enescu Philharmonic Society (1945), Banat philharmonic Society (1946) and Friends of music Philharmonic Society (1947) who, over many decades, have enriched the artistic life of the city of Bega. From the beginning, the program revealed a wide repertoire, from baroque to contemporary music.
State Philharmonic of Sibiu
In the context of the existence of such a great number of musicians, of a music conservatory, and of a great tradition in the field of symphonic and opera performance, the State Philharmonic of Sibiu was funded on January 1st, 1949.
The Philharmonic of Sibiu was and continues to be a professional institution that, during its 50 years of existence as a state institution, offered thousands of symphonic and opera concerts, accumulating a vast symphonic and lyric repertoire. Read more
Kielce Philharmonic Orchestra
The history of the band dates back to 1920, when it started operations symphony orchestra which originated from the Brass Band 4 Infantry Regiment in Kielce. Representatives of cultural ambition, however, was the creation of a professional band. That dream was realized after the war. The Provincial Symphony Orchestra consisted of 24 legionnaires, which reflects not only the strong relationship with the Orchestra of the Legions, but also about the historical continuity. Inauguration of the first artistic season took place on July 28, 1945 – two months after the liberation. The first director of the Orchestra was Marian Stroiński, and after him, since 1955, led the institution Felicjan Lasota. Read more
Vaasa City Orchestra
Founded in 1930 in Vaasa City Orchestra has 31 musicians and its Work and concert venue is Vaasa City Hall, right in the center of Vaasa. Since January 2016 has served as conductor of the orchestra James Lowe .
Different target groups are taken into account in Vaasa City Orchestra in action. In addition to traditional concerts, the orchestra makes regular school concert tours in Vaasa, Finland and its neighboring communities. Seniors Vaasa City Orchestra remember the annual senior citizens with a free concert.
Not only their own concerts, the Vaasa City Orchestra has performances at various music festivals (Ilmajoki Music Festival, the Korsholm Music Festival and Lohtaja Church Music Festival). Vaasa City Orchestra Opera co-operation with the Vaasa Opera Foundation and Vaasa City Theater. Concerts are regularly held with the Seinäjoki City Orchestra. Concerts have also been the Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra, the Umeå Symphony Orchestra and Pori Sinfonietta. Read more
